Only
the Trinity can stop the vengeful god Orlac from destroying the Land.
Yet the Trinity itself remains a mystery.
Deep in the folklore of Tallinor lies a dark legend of betrayal
and destruction: the story of a powerful sentient called Orlac, who
once razed the famed city of Caremboche and almost destroyed the entire
land. Torkyn Gynt, a young village scribe with untold healing powers,
leaves his life and dearest love behind to become apprentice to the
Royal Physic, thus taking his first step on the road to his Destiny.
Despite his powers and the help of his friends, he finds himself on the
brink of destruction.
When Orlac returns seeking vengeance and ultimate power, there
are few who can stop him. Indeed, with Tor's allies in disarray, the
outcome of any battle with Orlac is unknown and everyone is fearful of
the future.
Revenge
Saved from
death by Merkhud's Spiriting, sentient Torkyn Gynt lives
in hiding both from his enemies and Alyssa, the woman who loved him and
now believes him dead. His only companions are Cloot, his beloved
falcon, and Yargo, a spirit sent to him by the dreamspeaker, Lys.
Tor senses
the moment when the last of the Paladin falls to Orlac. Now
the only thing which can stop the powerful, angry god from wreaking
vengeance is the Trinity – but no one knows who or what they might be.
Determined to make good his terrible betrayal of Alyssa, Tor sends
Yargo to find his and Alyssa's children, who were spirited away by
Darmud Coril, god of the Heartwood. For his part, Tor intends to track
down Goth, former Chief Inquisitor, who escaped execution and is still
a threat to Alyssa and the Paladin. Better to keep one's enemy in
sight, Tor believes, and he sets out on a mission to find the evil Goth
and his equally dangerous companion, Xantia, before they can take their
own revenge.
Destiny
Will
Tallinor
finally fall to Orlac?
The
Paladin are reunited in the Heartwood and the Trinity is
revealed at last. But what is the key to the secret which will unlock
their power? The Land is in peril and they are helpless to save it.
Tor and Alyssa are surrounded by danger. Their old enemy Goth is
still free and causing pain and suffering wherever he goes. Alyssa's
nemesis, Xantia, returns to haunt her. And the mad god Orlac has
installed himself on the throne of Cipres and now turns his attention
to hunting down Tor, determined to kill him and those he loves.
The battle
lines are set for the final confrontation between the two
most powerful sentients ever to walk the Land.
The
Quickening
Myrren's Gift
General Wyl
Thirsk, a favourite of the
Morgravian sovereign, swears a
blood oath to protect the king’s son, Celimus, even though he despises
him. The long-held acrimony between heir and champion is deepened when
Celimus contrives for Wyl to witness the barbaric torture of a young
woman called Myrren. Declared a witch because of her ill-matched
eyes,
only Thirsk takes pity on her suffering. In return for his
kindness,
she promises him a gift. At the second of her death Wyl’s eyes become
ill-matched for just a moment and only a blind Seer understands the
truth of The Quickening which has arrived in Wyl’s life.
Years
later Celimus is king and finally in a position to rid himself of
the man he hates. Using the cruellest blackmail he despatches Wyl,
together with the mysterious mercenary Romen Koreldy, into the enemy
realm of Briavel.
The duel which ensues between Wyl
and Koreldy will claim one of them
but not even a true believer of sorcery could forsee the dark secret of
Myrren’s Gift as it emerges to begin its journey of vengeance.
Blood and Memory
Wyl
Thirsk has
seen his best friend murdered and his sister
imprisoned by King Celimus of Morgravia. Now the king has turned his
attention to the neighbouring realm of Briavel – and the woman Wyl
loves. Wyl is desperate to return to Valentyna and prevent her marriage
to Celimus, but fate has other plans.
Trapped
by a
magical enchantment, Wyl must first track down the
elusive Manwitch – the only person who can help him break the
Quickening.
Bridge of Souls
War
looms between Morgravia and Briavel, and the threat from the
Mountain King grows stronger. Struggling against time and repulsed by
his latest disguise, everything Wyl Thirsk has striven to prevent is
happening – including the marriage of his beloved Queen Valentyna of
Briavel to the reviled King Celimus.
Even worse, the final curse of The Quickening demands he
becomes
sovereign of Morgravia. Clinging to an ominous suggestion from the
increasingly powerful Finch, Wyl walks his most dangerous path yet –
straight back into the brutal clutches of King Celimus.
Is Wyl doomed to follow the path of The Quickening, or will he
succeed in shaping his own destiny?
Percheron
Odalisque
In Percheron an
old Zar
dies and Boaz, the
15-year-old son of
Herezah, his Absolute Favourite, takes power. Ambitious and scheming,
Herezah arranges for her son’s rivals to be disposed of with the help
of the loathsome Grand Master Salmeo, and oversees the assembly of a
new harem. One of its number is Ana, who enters a world where she wants
for nothing ... except her freedom.
Ana’s
only friends are
Lazar, the secretive and eligible Spur of Percheron, and a seemingly
insane dwarf called Pez. Her attempt at escape after witnessing a
disturbing eunuch ritual and undergoing her own brutal Test of Virtue
sets in motion forces beyond anyone’s control... Even more mysterious
is the rising of Iridor heralding a new cycle in the war of faith led
by the evil Maliz that will enmesh them all in a deadly battle between
gods.
Emissary
Odalisque Ana
is resigned to life in Percheron's famed harem and has
little more than a blood-soaked veil to remind her that Spur Lazar, the
man she loves, is dead. She is closely watched by the scheming Grand
Master Eunuch, Salmeo, and the cunning and cruel Valide Herezah. The
Valide, unhappy at Ana's influence over the young Zar, contrives a
shrewd plan to bring about the beautiful young woman's demise. But
greater forces are at work. The demon Maliz has taken the guise of
Percheron's Grand Vizier in order to stalk Iridor, the traditional
accomplice of the Goddess. And a war is brewing. A long-time enemy,
Galinsea, intends to exact a vicious blood price for the death of its
crown prince, Lucien, at the hands of the Percherese. However, the only
person in the Stone Palace who can undertake the dangerous journey to
Galinsea and negotiate for peace is about to die ...
Goddess
In Percheron, Zar Boaz is
preparing for the imminent arrival of the
Galinsean war fleet. Despite the necessity for him to be part of the
delicate negotiations, Spur Lazar determines to travel back to the
desert to rescue the abducted Zaradine Ana.
Ana is a prisoner of the despotic Arafanz and his fanatical followers
and as it slowly becomes clear what they plan for Percheron, Ana does
not know if she is to survive.
Once
the palace fool, Pez is now locked in a mighty battle of wills
with his nemesis, the charismatic Grand Vizier Tariq ... which may make
the threat of war irrelevant as the final confrontation for the
region’s faith is played out.
